About Kathleen...

I'm very new to Postcrossing and I'm now sending out my first batch of cards! I'm living in Turkey this summer and sending cards from here, but I spend most of my time in the United States and am originally from Berkeley, California.

I'm a student working on my doctoral thesis in Philosophy. I also love to take pictures and travel. When I can, I like to spend time in nature, whether hiking in the rain forest in Bolivia, watching the sunrise over the desert in Syria, or sitting by the sea in my home state of California. When I was a child I wanted to be a veterinarian, and I still love animals, from dogs and cats to birds and rats. I share my home with two cats.

I would love to receive postcards that show something characteristic or unique about the place that you live...an interesting building, marketplace, skyline, or landscape, an animal that's common in your area, even a special kind of clothing or food! Any postcard that you think is special or beautiful or that you made yourself would also be wonderful. (But please don't send any advertising or promotional postcards.) Please do write on the back of the card, whether it's something about what's on the front of the card, a recipe from your region, a sketch/drawing, or a bit about yourself, or just a few words in your native language!
