About Karen...

- I am a 48 year old Scottish criminal defence solicitor with a doctorate in law & forensic medicine. My doctorate is entitled "Murder by Poison in Scotland During the 1800s & Early 1900s." I have a fascination with the past & in particular love the style of the 1920s & 1930s - art deco. I collect antique glass and love to rummage in antique shops and go to car boot sales. I would love to receive art deco cards if anyone can find them & in particular art deco buildings. Also astronomical clocks, books, nouvelle images,globes, glass, old bottles, antique maps, Moomins. I love the work of Anton Pieck and would just love to receive cards of his work.

I enjoy travel & love to meet people & seeinteresting sights. To date most amazing thing I have seen is the Pyramids at Giza, Cairo. Also gold Bhuddas in Bangkok along with a trip on an elephant.I am an avid reader and enjoy books by arabic authors. I'm fascinated by arabic culture- buildings, food etc and my favourite authoris Naguib Mahfouz. I love animals and my avatar is a picture of the dog I used to have - Kel a collie cross.Kel lived to 16 and I still miss her every day, but work makes it unfair that I have another dog just now.I love dogs & walking them in the beautiful parks that we have here in Glasgow. Glasgow is called "The Dear Green Place", because of the large amount of parks that we have and there is nothing nicer than walking through the park on an autumn or snowy day. I love autumn days with leaves of all different colours falling from the trees and the apples from the trees in my garden being ready to eat and bake with. Snowy days as well when the buildings and trees look so beautiful all covered in snow and the beautiful foxes that live at the back of my garden leave their footprints in fresh fallen snow. I have a whole family of foxes living at the back of my garden and they are just so lovely to watch- a card of a fox would be lovely. I enjoy gardening very much in the summer months when it is so nice to watch seeds that you have planted grow into beautiful flowers. I have a fountain in my garden and in summer evenings it is so nice to sit with a cup of tea and listen to the water trickling and flowing away in the fountain- it is so relaxing. The birds in my garden use the fountain as a bird bath and it is so nice to be able to watch them having fun and see all the different birds that visit my garden for the food I put out for them.
I love to receive post and am looking forward to receiving cards from many different countries of the world. I also love pictures of anything that is beautiful, different or unusual such as a Chinese dragon from China, wild animals, Egyptian heiroglyphics or a beautiful rainbow and of course anything that is related to the 1920s and 1930s and art deco.
Please dont send me, though, homemade, awful view cards that you would not like to receive yourself, monuments, free or advertising cards or photos as I wont appreciate that
