I'm an artist and mainly collect cards (reproductions) of famous paintings, sculptures, design objects, furniture, typography etc. (sold in museum shops etc.).
I travel a lot and have lived in several countries. While abroad I enjoy to visit local post offices and their philatelic departments. I go to art galleries and museums, rock concerts, classical concerts, second hand bookshops, flea markets, auctions and antique shops.
I also collect
- DDR and Soviet Union graphic design, babuschka cards etc.
- vintage / retro cards
- Barbapapa
- Tintin (Hergé)
- Pippi Longstocking (Astrid Lindgren)
- Fiat 500, Fiat 600 (also old viewcards from 1960's and 1970's with these Fiat cars visible)
It would be nice if you used real and special stamps (philatelic). In many places it seems if you don't ask for a stamp, they put just a cancellation or a white printed sticker instead of a real stamp. Remember that a stamp can tell as much about your country as the card :)
Cards I would *not* like to receive are:
- free cards / advertising cards (unless pictures something I collect like FIAT 500 and 600)
- self made cards
- humour/funny cards
- multi-view viewcards (= many pictures in same card)
- holiday viewcards
- Christmas, Easter, Birthday etc. cards
- religious cards
I hope you can understand the reason for this! :)
I am interested in finding "pen pals" with same interests to swap nice cards with every now and then :)
Happy postcrossing!
