About Wilkinson...

Greetings!

We are the Wilkinson Family. We are a family of 4, Dad, Mom, and two teenage kids living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Our son is Deaf. We all use American Sign Language (ASL) and Spoken English in our home to communicate. He now attends the University of New Mexico and our beautiful daughter is a Junior in High School.

We are native to New Mexico and love living in Albuquerque. Albuquerque is the largest city in the State of New Mexico and we are about one hour drive (or one and a half hour train ride... it is slow and stops often) from our state capitol, Santa Fe. We have big blue skies and perfect weather almost all year. Winter is here now so it is cold, but our skies are just as beautiful.

We love to eat fresh roasted green chile and delicious hot red chile with many of our meals. In the fall the smell of roasting green chili is one of the best smells in the world! The New Mexico State bird is the Road Runner. We have two living near our home!

The avatar we posted was an actual postcard from my grandparents restaurant. They owned two restaurants on Central Avenue (Historic Route 66) here in Albuquerque. They were named the "Big Chief Cafe" and the "Little Chief Lunch." They have long since closed, but this, and two other postcards were found after my mother passed away. They advertised their restaurants. We found them and have made the avatar photo one into a REAL postcard again. We did it through MOO.COM. We are excited to have finally gone through the process and made it happen!

We have been doing a great deal of research on Ancesty.com and finding out many new things! Now in April of 2012, the 1940 American Census will become public. Lots to look up... Cant wait to find out more about our past. We have also been scanning all of our old photos. It is quite a task, but in the end, well worth it.

-We are big Disney World fans. We do have some postcards that we can send from our last trip there in July 2011. If you have visited any Disney Park in the world we would love to get one from you!

-We really like vintage restaurant/diner type post cards.

-Post cards that are of black and white photography are becoming more of an interest lately as well as cards with just words on them.

-We would love to get scenic postcards related to where you live.
