About Helen...

Hi! I'm Helen and I'm from Kyiv, Ukraine. Currently I'm trying to raise my little sons Nikita (2007) and Misha (2009) and still working, but thankfully from home.

I'm a terrible collector, probably if I could, I'd collect mostly everything :) However, I limited myself with few collections: pysanki, cat figurines, stamps, coins, sugar and matches from restraints/cafes and postcards. My biggest collections are
- pysanki, Ukrainian easter eggs (real eggs painted in a special way with geometrical and other ornaments);
- sugar packets (I have more then 7000 already);
- and postcards (haven't counted yet)!

I used to travel a lot, abroad Ukraine and locally by car. From each travel I sent home a postcard with a local views. It was very nice to receive a piece of a place I've been to when I'm already became thoroughly engrossed in work and home routine.

So, main subject of my postcard collection is viewcards. But, thanks to Postcrossing, I liked many other topics too! And here are some ideas for you:
- views (country and city, castles, bridges, lighthouses, mills, churches/cathedrals (especially, wooden), architecture details like doors, windows, street lights)
- nature (especially, lavander fields, poppies, irises and waterfalls)
- mailboxes
- close up of sweets and tasty things (not a recipe!)
- close up of berries and fruits
- cats by Martti Lehto, Anna Hollerer or Renate Koblinger
- art works by Maria Pavlova from St.Petersburg

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not send me:
- celebrities or personalities cards
- animals (except they are cats, racoons or otters)
- flowers (except tulips, sunflowers, irises and poppies)
- AD cards (they just do not fit my collection at ALL)
- self made cards (I may not understand your creativity)
- tooooooo traditional views from your country (i.e. Kremlin and Red Square from Moscow, Big Ben from London, Great Wall from China)

However, I'd love mostly any card :) I would much appreciate if you send your card in an envelope, so that to prevent it from damage while "traveling" and to collect your stamp :) If you cann't, it's absolutely OK too :)
