About Amie...
*** Please note - My Account is inactive as I have recently moved from Australia to the USA. I am hoping to start swapping postcards again very soon, once we have settled in ****
Hi! My name is Amie and I live in Delaware, USA. I am originally from Pennsylvania, USA. I moved to Australia in 2001 and lived with my husband and our Keeshond dog, Phoebe, in South Australia. We have just recently moved back to the USA in November 2011 and have settled in Dover, Delaware.
I started collecting postcards in 1998. I do not have a huge collection but I hope that it continues to grow. I really am happy to receive any cards posted from your city, state or country. I do have a few different things that I mainly collect though, so if you are unsure of what to send, please consider:
Maps (state or country)
Lighthouses
Maxi Cards (any theme)
City Views (with the City name on the front/not multi-views)
Native Animals (native to your state/country)
Sunsets
Waterfalls
Flags (state or country)
UNESCO WHS - my small collection of received sites can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/people/gracefool/
If you are interested in more specific preferences, I also am very interested in these themes:
ART by - Dali, Van Gogh, Norman Rockwell, Kaj Stenvall, Mark Ryden (or similar themed Gothic/Surreal art)
MOVIES/TV - The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, The Matrix, Harry Potter, Twilight Series, Dexter, True Blood, Dr. Who, Torchwood, Heroes
Cards featuring these other themes:
Nurse related, Vampires, Zodiac sign Pisces, The Month of February, main colour on the card is purple
I like to receive cards that are written on by the sender with a short story about the postcard or about the sender. My favourite way to receive cards is written on and posted with a stamp, postmarked from the city/state shown on the postcard.
I hope to meet lots of new people to trade postcards with all around the world!
