About Dru...
Hello postcrossers!
My name's Dru, I'm 29, and I live in London, UK. I come from Czech Republic but never felt at home there - my brain operates in english and good old England's where my heart is. My favorite thing in the world is to curl up in bed with a book and a mug of hot tea/coffee/chocolate...or wander aimlessly around London for hours. If I got filthy rich, I'd buy a beautiful old-fashioned english house, and then just buy books books books - I guess what I read most of is fantasy (Joe Abercrombie and Scott Lynch are my newest discoveries, and they are both amazing...and Discworld & Harry Potter the all time favorites), but I also love Jane Austen, Chuck Palahniuk, and my favorite in the whole world - Stephen King.
I also love all things artsy, including fashion (not in an obsessive, trend-following way, more like...I always look at what people are wearing, and I love clothes as another way to express one's personality...if you're interested, my favorite street-style blogger is waynetippetts.com - he always finds the most amazing people)...aaand I couldn't exist without music. And London. And chocolate, probably.
As for my preferences...I'll be happy pretty much with any card really, but here you go anyway:
* art of any kind (Finland - I'd LOVELOVELOVE an Inge Löök grannies card)
* anything to do with the folklore in your area, especially fairytales and such things
* anything to do with witches, Halloween, or magic
* autumn
* chocolate
* fashion
* books/bookshops/libraries
* christmas
* 60's muscle cars (67 Mustang is my dream car) & other classics
* pin-ups
* vintage
* and of course, any photos of your country/town
(or just have a look at my favorites to get an idea)
My first language is english, but you can write in czech as well, and german, french & spanish is okay too, I have some basics in those languages and would love to learn more - and that goes for Persian especially. If you are in a Persian speaking country, please do write something to me in Persian, using the Persian alphabet, I'd love & really really appreciate that! Aaaaand if you're from Maine, could you by any chance find a Stephen King related postcard for me? I'd be one very happy panda if I got one of those :)
Please tell me something about yourself - favorites, memories, interesting details, quirks...anything :)
I like interesting stamps, but I know it's not always possible to get them (here, if I want to use any other stamps than the boring Queen-head ones or the current special edition - rignt now it's the Olympics - I have to order them online, which is a bit silly, but oh well), so don't worry about those too much...however, PLEASE don't use an envelope and don't send any ad cards - it's a bit lazy, don't you think?
Anyway...if you would like to do direct swaps, just let me know, London is beautiful and the postcard options are endless!
Looking forward to your postcards!
Dru xxx
