About gement...

Postcards: Send me anything. I like pictures or stories that are special to you, and strange stamps! I always want to learn what people care about. Tell me about something in your life that brings you joy.

Preferences: Art cards, unusual images, strange advertisements, libraries, circles/spirals/arches, and characters from stories. (See Favorites wall.) I grew up reading Moominfamily books; Snufkin was my favorite, and hattifatteners.

But the very best is when you *choose a picture you care about and tell me why.*

Swaps: I am happy to correspond or look for a special request from my area. Just ask! Yes, you.

*** *** About Me *** ***

Me at Play: I like science fiction books and television, comic books, and other stories of impossible things. I write books about vampires. I enjoy dressing up in theatrical and science fiction costumes. (I can't sew my own, because I'm lazy about learning to sew.) I love to eat strawberries and good fresh bread.

Me at Work: I work for a library support company. We don't loan books; we make computer software that helps libraries. I love my work, because I make it easier for people to find books and magazines they will enjoy.

Myself: I'm 30 years old. I'm usually a woman, but some days I feel like a man. I love men. I love women. I'm grateful I live in a time and place where I can be myself and don't worry what people will think of it.

*** *** Quotes I Agree With *** ***

"A correspondence is a kind of love affair... It is with our own epistolary persona that we fall in love, rather than with that of our pen pal." -- Janet Malcolm

"Still and all, why bother? Here's my answer. Many people need desperately to receive this message: 'I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.'" -- Kurt Vonnegut
