About gaston...

My 4 year-old friendly Labrador was born in France. I called him Gaston because of the song: "Gaston, Gaston, y a le téléphon' qui son'". It makes French people smile, chuckle and/or sing.

We live in Southern Germay, in a small village surrounded by vineyards and situated on the French border. That's why I mostly send cards from Alsace.

I love reading fiction in English, French and German. Here a non-exhaustive list of novels and authors I cherish:

Arundhati Roy, The God of Small Things
Amos Oz, A Tale of Love and Darkness
Rohan Mistry, A Fine Balance
François Cheng, Le Dit de Tyanyi
Eric Orsenna, Madame Bâ,
Margret Atwood, The Blind Assassin and The Robber Bride
Douglas Adams, A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Alexander McCall Smith, The 44 Scotland Street series

Whodunits by Mina Walters, Ian Rankin, Kate Atkins, Bernhard Schlink, Ingrid Noll and Fred Vargas.

If you want to make me happy, here a few suggestions:

- old towns, street views, markets
- one of those Scandinavian red cottages
- I love art cards
- a Buddha or anything related to Zen Buddhism would be nice
- flora and fauna of your country
- I like donkeys, puffins, seals, butterflies and I'm fascinated by cranes

Any card is welcome, but no free/ad cards, no selfmade cards, no military stuff, no royals, popes or movie stars please!
If possible, tell me something about yourself, something that made you laugh or smile, something you enjoyed like a good meal or a good book.

Happy postcrossing!
