I'm living in one of the biggest cities in the world and the biggest here in Brasil. Have a love-and-hate feeling with this city, but I'll be leaving country next year, so...
I like postcards that show something from your place, your city, some "unusual" but beautiful/interesting place or view - but near every postcard is OK, except those marketing/propaganda and/or with "cliché" photos of pets, I think... :)
