When I was a young girl a half century ago (yes, I am really ancient), I loved sending and receiving postcards. Occasionally I would get a postcard chain letter. You know how those go - you send a card to the first person on the list. Then eliminate the first name and add your name and address at the bottom. Copy the letter and send it to five friends. Within a month you should receive 250 postcards. I tried this every single time, always hoping to find wonderful surprises in the mail box. So, what did I get? - nadda, zilch, zip! Terribly frustrating when you are 10 years old!
But now I have found Postcrossing! Be still my beating heart! Finally I will make up for childhood disappointments. I don't care what type of postcard or anything else that is sent to me - it will be a surprise - a big surprise! Ah, the fun of getting real mail!
