About Alena...
Hello!
My name is Alena. I'm 27, married and a happy mom of a baby daughter. She is just one and a half years old cute toddler but I already can't imagine my life without her!
Besides being a full-time mom I’m also a freelance translator, a desperate housewife and a true bookworm. When I have some free time I’m in for cross-stitching and watching science-fiction and TV series like House M.D., Dexter, Castle, The Big Bang Theory, etc (would you recommend me something new to watch?). Postcrossing is my relatively new hobby but I enjoy it SO much. As I do not often have an opportunity to travel, each card for me is like a real part of the country I've probably never been to.
My wishlist includes (in random order):
-- black & white cards (mainly with people on them)
-- pin up girls
-- Nouvelles Images multiples cards
-- sea and everything related
-- books, book covers, reading people
-- children’s books illustrations (Moomins, Winnie-the-Pooh, etc)
-- fairy tales and fantasy illustrations (fairies, unicorns, trolls, etc)
-- illustrations by Inge Löök, Raija Nokkala, Minna Immonen, Rolf Lidberg, Fiep Westendorp, Kate Dudnik, Ольга Ионайтис
-- flower fairies by Cicely Mary Barker
-- Krtek
-- colourful autumn cards
-- smiling and positive people (both adults and children)
-- mothers and babies (both people and animals)
-- seals, seals, SEALS! I adore these lovely animals!
-- dogs (just dogs without any words or embellishments on the card)
-- raccoons (my daughter has the nickname Raccoon)
-- pandas
-- mailboxes
-- Miyazaki characters (especially Totoro)
-- Mamegoma seals
-- map cards of towns and US states
-- Obama
-- bicycles for my husband
-- retro cars for me
-- bunny suicides
-- nature of your country (aurora borealis, astonishing landscapes, flower fields, fog, etc)
-- breathtaking city views (single views, please)
-- people in national costumes
-- something really authentic and traditional about your country
-- Christmas topic (snowmen, gnomes, bullfinches, squirrels, cute vintage girls, gingerbread cookies, houses, etc)
In fact I will be glad to receive ANY postcard from you but please do not send me AD-cards and religious stuff. The best greeting card for me is the one from my wishlist. :)
Also it would be great if you wrote several words about yourself. That makes postcards somehow touching and memorable for me. Lovely stamps are always appreciated as I'm a stamp-collector. Feel free to ask for stamp swap.
Also I started a small project collecting children's books for my sweetheart. We can organize a private swap if you are interested in kids' books, postcards or whatever from Belarus.
If you send your card in an envelope and that's not expensive for you, I will be really grateful if you enclose some stickers for my daughter. :)
And you can always write me a long letter. That's so great to have a penpal somewhere in this beautiful world... :)
Thank you for reading all this if you read till the very end. xD
