I am a mother of 2 young boys, and we love to learn about new places in the world. We love to travel and hope to visit many places. I love to cook, recipes from different places especially, if you could send me the recipe for your favorite food that would be great! But I also love postcards with something specific to your city/country. I also love to read and my favorite color is green. I am a native New Yorker, and think this is one of the most interesting and diverse places a person can grow up. I currently live in Forest Hills. Forest Hills was settled in the mid 1600’s and was known as Whitepot. English settlers bought the land from Native Americans for three white clay pots and the name stuck. The present history of Forest Hills was begun in 1906 when successful businessman Cord Meyer purchased 600 acres of farmland in Whitepot. Meyer re-named the area Forest Hills in deference to nearby Forest Park and because the area was the highest point for miles around.
