About Farah...

Hello! :)

I'm from Cairo, the capital of Egypt. It's a great historic city that's now too big and too crowded and busy... My dream has always been to live in a small house in a small laid back town somewhere..

My name, Farah, in Arabic means "joy" or "happiness". I'm 24 years old.

I love to read (just about anything!) so if you have a book recommendation for a book you thought was really good, I'd love to hear it :)

I also love traveling and have been lucky enough to visit a lot of really great countries. When I'm back home I relax with my coffee, and my computer, I read a lot of books and articles, and I also love watching documentaries (but I watch a lot of tv shows and movies as well!). I don't enjoy the heat in Egypt so I love traveling to cold countries.

I really enjoy all mail I receive, especially when you tell me a bit about your life - what's on the back of the postcard is just as important as what's on the front :)

Some of the things that particularly interest me on postcards (in single view when possible) include:

- people reading (my favorite!)
- books
- libraries (from the inside or outside)
- art cards (especially showing women)
- paintings by Van Gogh (also: Waterhouse, Monet, Renoir, Alma Tadema, Rossetti, Edelfelt, Degas, etc)
- any and all artwork, local art, etc
- statues of women
- people relaxing or working (especially women)
- inge look's old ladies (love them! please check the ones I've already received)
- coffee / tea time cards, coffee shops
- bicycles
- benches
- doors, windows
- a store front (a shop from the outside)
- a street, an alley, a fire escape
- a cottage in the countryside
- mail related, post offices, post boxes
- black & white cards
- old cards, reprints, (also really old cards, early 1900s, from flea markets.. or your attic..)
- subway maps (please check the ones I've already received)
- old maps
- children's book illustrations, fairytales
- myths or legends from your country
- native people, their art and customs
- relating to the earth and the environment
- disney cartoon movie cards (only Aladin, Beauty & the Beast, Lion King, Little Mermaid, etc)
- comics, superheroes, Tintin, the Simpsons
- outer space
- political, propaganda, your country's president
- famous figures
- nouvelles images (love the multiples)
