About Jessica...
Hello! I'm not very interesting, mostly I just enjoyed filling out my Wreck This Journal with stamps from all over the world, but that's finished now. I have enjoyed postcrossing so much, however, that I'm gonna keep going! I don't really do much other than write every night for hours, just fun freewriting exercises, nothing worthy of publishing. I really love to hear about other cultures, things people love about living where they do, and maybe possibly things that people from other places wouldn't really know about where you live. Something tiny and interesting that you think people really miss out on when they visit, or research.
For instance, driving through the Appalachian mountains from Lexington to Tennessee in the fall is one of the most beautiful drives I have ever taken. The richness of golds, reds, oranges, and yellows mixed in with the brown trunks, blue skies, and sweeping valleys is breathtaking. In the winter, water that normally flows naturally between the rocks that were cut away to make highways freezes up into these long, cascading waterfalls that I call ice castles. I think they are beautiful, even if I hate snow! I grew up in Dallas, TX, and will always be a Texan at heart, but the people in Kentucky are some of the nicest, down to earth, friendly, most kindhearted people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It is a wonderful place to live, the land surrounding our city is beautiful in all weather, and I always feel safe.
As for cards, I obviously love faeries, but I also love:
fine art (da Vinci, Michelangelo, Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, Dali, etc etc)
Edward Gorey
animals (specifically butterflies, cats, penguins, meerkats, koalas, frogs/toads, turtles/tortoises, thorny devils (but no other snakes/lizards, please!), beautiful fish, bunnies)
cartoons (especially Disney/Pixar)
children
ballet
music
string instruments (violin/cello etc) especially
Hello Kitty/Sanrio
pretty much anything movie related
Royalty of all kinds
vintage, lesser known historical type things, or just whatever you think is pretty or interesting! I don't even mind macabre stuff, as long as it's not gorey/horror type stuff. If it's tourist-y, then something that you really love about where you live would be super neat! :)
Please, no cards with Obama or his family on it. Thank you.
I look forward to exchanging postcards with everyone!! And please make sure you put my name on the card; more than one person in my house postcrosses!!
PS: I only upload pictures of the postcards I send so there is one. If you can take a better picture than my iPhone (I'm sure that you can!) then please do! ~♥
