First, thanks Paulo & Team for creating & running Postcrossing - I love it!

I enjoy collecting cards of places. It's helpful if place-names are printed on cards, for arranging alphabetically - country/state/town etc. If in different script (Chinese, Russian etc.) a translation would be very much appreciated.

Standard-size cards preferred, so they'll fit nicely in storage boxes 6x4 inches/15x10 cm. I'm not keen on large/long/oddshaped cards.
Unwritten cards, in envelopes with nice stamps affixed, would be ideal - but not essential, especially where postage costs more that way. I collect stamps too.

Pretty cards with attractive colours preferred, please, nothing ugly, no bloodsport/dead creatures. I'm not keen on black-&-white/sepia, old/vintage, art/non-photographic, computer generated or handmade cards. Ads only if of named places.
Favourites include:
Attractive architecture: castles, chateaux, manor houses, cathedrals, civic buildings, thatched cottages, mediaeval, Oriental, colourful etc. Bell/clock-towers. Old & new juxtaposed. Views through arches/columns/tracery. Pretty courtyards.
Archaeological/historical sites. Walled cities.
Places where dinosaur-remains were found/footprints preserved in rock etc. Ancient cave paintings.
Rock-formations, cliffs, volcanoes, geysers, glaciers, caves, waterfalls. San Andreas fault etc.
Gardens; views with flowers/blossoms in foreground, potted plants/window boxes/hanging baskets; floral carpet/clock; mazes; flowery borders on cards. Vines/vineyards. Fountain/pretty water features.
Arches formed by trees; gnarled/twisted old trees.
Beautiful/impressive nature, autumn colours. In snow too.
Nature or town scene with reflection in water or on shiny building.
Astronomical observatories/dishes/telescopes.
Views with unusual cloud formations/pretty coloured sky/rainbow/aurora.
Snowy street scene with Christmas decorations.
Night street scene with pretty lights/colours.
Decorative cobblestones/pavement/sidewalk, pretty lamppost/steps/stairs.
Colourful coralreefs, tropical isles, clear waters, estuaries.
Stadia of Olympic Games/Grand Slam Tennis/World Cup Football (soccer).
Famous places/tourist attractions/landmarks. Unusual/amusing/looking down too.
Wales/Scotland, Greece/Egypt, Arctic/Antarctic.
French departements Lot & Garonne(47), Haute Marne(52), Mayenne(53) & overseas.
Places from where it's rare to get cards!
Royal families.
Country/state map/flag.
National dress.
"Star Trek".
Koala; giant & red panda; Samoyed/Spitz-family, Labrador, Cairn dogs.
Owl, swan, penguin, British/European robin, hummingbird, parrot-family birds.
Sea horse, octopus, cuttlefish.
Cherry blossom, wisteria, lily-of-the-valley, snowdrop, daffodil, primrose, bluebell, violet, sweetpea, freesia, lilac, honeysuckle, oleander, tropical orchid/magnolia/plumeria.
