Sending postcards to friends, family and work colleagues is an everyday part of my life. I enjoy the sense of place and history that postcards create - whether they are one hundred years old and their small stories are lost to history, or just purchased yesterday and capture a trip, a thought or a memory. Some old postcards, with their odd illustrations or sayings, just make me smile or try to cast a quizzical glance back through time. I have also had some special moments of re-connecting old postcards with family members whose distant relatives wrote the cards, or people who might live in a residence shown on an old card.

I travel extensively, and my own "be prepared" motto for travel is to find a bunch of old postcards from my destination, and have them ready to mail. I enjoy receiving postcards which the story of where you live or travel, of what you love or enjoy, or that animate a spark of history or place that has meaning to you. Please, no stamped envelopes, no handmade cards or ad cards - mail postcards!
