About Tonya...

Hello, I'm Tonya.

I am 51, and live with the love of my life, Thomas. We have no children, but have 2 kittycats and several freshwater fish. I work for the duty free shop at McCarran International Airport here in Las Vegas, NV. I have lived here since 1994 when I moved from Dallas TX. Like most locals I could not imagine life anywhere else now. Except I sure do miss TX and the cowboy way of life there. But the weather here is much more tolerable. And no one has better toys!

I must recommend a book for everyone to read! It is 'PS, Your Cat is Dead' by James Kirkwood. It is a hilarious comedy, except for his poor dead kitty. I have told anyone who ever told me they like to read that this a MUST. My eye was caught by the title on a library shelf. I have lost many paperback copies out on loan and couldn't be happier about it. (Book people think to not return a borrowed book earns you the death penalty!) Please trust in a cat lover that you will email me to say thanks!

My favorite music is by Alvin Lee and Ten Years After. I saw them in concert in 1974 at the Long Beach Ca Arena at the age of 14 and have been a hardcore headbanger ever since. In my opinion there isn't now nor has ever been a better guitar player than Alvin Lee.

My NFL football team is the San Francisco 49ers. When I learned to appreciate football Joe Montana was king. He still is to me. My college football team is the Iowa Hawkeyes. My favorite sport to play is foosball. I won a tournament in 1978!

My favorite fish in my 50 gallon tank is my 13 year old 12 inch long Gibbiceps plecostomus. His name is Brownie and I got him in 1998! I could not live without my fishtanks or cats. Matter of fact, I'd rather live with them and no humans! Mostly kidding!

I love to collect antiques, especially sewing items and oil lamps. My hand crank Singer is from 1926. An oil lamp identical to one of my Aladdin's sold for $450 recently on ebay!
