About Leslie...

The abridged version of my profile: I love all the typical "tourist" view cards, and you are very welcome to write me in Russian, Turkish, or German!

**

The long version: Selam! I'm originally American, dangerously close to turning 30, and living in Ankara, Turkey, with my Turkish husband. We will stay in Turkey permanently and I'll take citizenship here soon, but I'm originally from Michigan (Kalamazoo, to be exact) and I'll always be a loyal Midwesterner in my heart. :) I've also spent wonderful time living and/or studying in Arkansas, Indiana, California, and Russia.

I'm rather boring, I think... but Turkey is a beautiful country with amazing history and I still have a lot of exploring left to do! I love living here! I teach university writing courses, study Turkish, and spend most of my free time cooking, reading, running, or writing postcards and letters.

I love getting mail! I'd be really happy to receive a card with a view of your city or country - the usual "tourist" views - cities, countrysides, landscapes, historical spots, anything. I like to see all the different places in the world that I can't afford to visit in person! But I'm not too picky - it's exciting to find anything in the mailbox and I'll be grateful for whatever you send!

My only postcard "don't" is: please DO NOT send me holiday cards. Thanks for being respectful! :)

You can write in Russian or German, if one is your native language - I studied both for many years at uni. Russian was my main field of study and I still use the language regularly. My German is much more rusty, but I'll be able to understand you, and I'll reply to you in German if you promise not to laugh at all my mistakes. ;) Of course, I'm also learning Turkish now - but my Russian is still better! I am proud to have Kurdish blood in our family, as well, and I try my best to learn that language in my (limited!) spare time!

Private swaps are always welcome from any country, and I especially love to swap cards with people from Russia and China!! I also love to swap tea, so just let me know if you are interested. :D
