About Amber...

My name is Amber. I'm a 23 year old parent of two. I have dreadlocks and stretched earlobes, as well as a few other piercings and some tattoos. I'm a friendly, outgoing person & I absolutely love meeting new people.

In my downtime, I collect postcards (our local antique store sells vintage postcards for 25 cents each -- some with postmarks from the 1920s and on!) I have a few penpals, I swap slams, and am an active swapper at swap-bot.com. I love to crochet, alter clothing, provide dreadlock maintenance, watch movies & spend time outdoors.

I love swapping (naked) postcards, individually packaged tea, slams, mix tapes, mix CDs, deco-tape, plugs/earrings/earskins/eyelets, dread-beads, DVDs (used/unscratched, burnt or new), candies, vintage photos, stationery, pins, yarn or hemp, recipes, flavored coffees, chocolate covered espresso beans, filled 35 mm cameras (I did a swap like that once. Took photos around town, recieved a camers from my swap partner & spent a couple dollars to get it developed, it was like getting a ton of new postcards. Heh) & ANYTHING homemade.

Favorite music: ANYTHING. These days, I've noticed I've been listening to a lot of Industrial, Drum & Bass, Hardstyle, Rock. Nu Metal & Experimental.

Did I mention I love movies? I probably did. Here's a short list of favorites. Repo! The Genetic Opera, 12 Monkeys, Boondock Saints, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Suicide Club, Fight Club, Casino, Scarface, Godfather films, Memento, Magnolia, Velvet Goldmine, Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, Smokin' Aces, Monty Python, May, Teeth, ALL zombie films, Domino, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Trainspotting, Wrist Cutters: A Love Story, Poolhall Junkies, Love In The Time Of Cholera, Atonement, The Machinist, Eraserhead & so on.

Reading is my forté. If listed favorite authors and books, it would end up being ridiculously long. I volunteer at the local library, so I'm always bringing books home.

The kind of postcards I send: Local imagery of the Qu'Appelle Valley, my town & vintage postcards. If I find some funky patterned cards or other types (like the types I've listed below), I'll send those too.

I'd love to recieve: antique/vintage, black and white (or sepia), black and white with one or two bold colors, interesting/obscure (staircases, abandoned buildings, doors, hoax/legends, cemetaries, churches, etc), rain/umbrellas/clouds+rainbows, windmills, bicycles, people, books/libraries, cultural, tea/coffee, disney/hello kitty/sanrio (my daughter loves those), etc etc. If you want to make a homemade card (ala postsecret), that would be absolutely fantastic!
