About Catarina...

I'm Catarina, a 16-year-old girl from a beautiful city in the north of Portugal called Porto. I’m on secondary school in Social and Human sciences course.
I like to call myself a “professional dreamer”. In my opinion, dreams are what command life.

Oscar Wilde is my favourite author of all time, my main inspiration, since writing is one of my hobbies (and future job, I hope!). One day, he wrote “I adore simple pleasures. They are the last refuge of the complex.” I couldn’t agree more with this sentence. It also defines who I am.

I love to be young, to study, to learn. Life wouldn’t be anything if we stopped learning. Postcards, music (all genres - from rock to classical), anime, books & literature, photography, cinema, ballet and fashion fill my cloudy days with a magnificent rainbow. Animals also mean very much to me, especially cats. I’m a huge cat lover. Cats are in everything that I do, and in future I hope I can help many abandoned kitties over the streets. That’s one of my biggest dreams (and they are a lot!). Of course the passion of my life is a lovely and cute cat called Freddie, a non-pedigreed American Shorthair which can’t stop giving me all his love and gratitude. We are very united, and I can’t imagine my life without him.

My main goal here is, obviously, to learn and to meet new people from different cultures :) I've always wanted to know all this beautiful world!
Besides all that I’ve mentioned up there, I’m really interested in languages and I pretend working in future as a linguistic, a translator, or something related to it. I would love if you could show me a little bit of your language in the postcard’s back. Why don’t you write me a few words in your mother tongue if you don’t know about what to write? You can talk about your country and its culture or about you and your interests, too. I really don’t like postcards with only the person’s name and “Happy Postcrossing” on it. So, please, write as much as you can. There’s always something I can learn.
