About Carolien...

Hi there all,

I'm 29 years old, mother of a 3 year old son, married and living in the south east part of the Netherlands. As a part-time job I enjoy working in DNA diagnostics doing research on breast cancer. I like reading and writing, traveling, keeping up with different fields of science and medicine, cycling, working out in the gym, watching a good movie, play funny games with my son, getting together with friends and so much more. Usually there are not enough hours in a day because I also love to sleep! :)

I've been lucky to be able to travel inside and outside Europe and I especially love stunning nature, the people you meet and the culture and traditions which make each place special.
Although I'm happy to receive any kind of postcard, here are some things I like a lot:

- Scenic views from where you live: nature, countryside or city.
- Mountains, waterfalls, cliffs, beaches, rice fields, special trees, volcanos, geisers etc.
- UNESCO sites.
- Sunset/sunrise, especially in cities.
- Black and white cards
- Children's book illustrations
- Anything colourful and cute or cards from Nouvelle Images, Limoon, Art Unlimited, Belle & Boo, Silke Leffler etc.

Or you can also take a look at my favorites at the postcard wall. If possible, I'm not too keen on ad, free, vintage or hand made cards.

Besides the cards itselves, most interesting to me about postcrossing are the people behind it. I love to read about you, tell me what's on your mind, what you did today, your favorite song or something not many people know.
