About Michael...
Hello there!
I'm Michael, a 19-year-old student from sleepy Hertford, just north of bustling London. As well as being a student of English Literature at University College London, I am also a writer, always looking for the elusive muse, struggling against the constricting apathy of modern society (etc etc)
Anyhow, I'd love to receive all sorts of postcards from across the world. I have no preferences for postcard style: anything from black and white cityscapes to cartoon alligators, from the local train station to classical paintings, from legendary footballers to art-house portraits - everything will (hopefully) provide me with both amusement and inspiration.
To say a little more about myself, I am a keen yet often thwarted traveller and, despite my rather delicate finances (thanks solely to doing a degree in London), I have managed to voyage to Grenoble, Brussels, and Bucharest in the last eighteen months or so. For the moment I am content to travel within Europe - the World can wait for my finances to immeasurably improve - and this summer I have had to postpone a rather elaborate Interrail trip on the grounds that I was unable to find anyone crazy enough to come with me (though I think that the stage which encompasses a ferry journey from Montenegro to Italy served to discourage most of the people I attempted to coerce...)
Please feel free to write about absolutely anything on postcards to me, though if you happen to be reading anything especially compelling at the time of writing, please share it! Currently I am reading Boswell's 'Journey of a Tour to the Hebrides', which will be followed by Richardson's 'Pamela'. I am also engaged in a continual struggle - though this one is more a struggle of love - with French master Marcel Proust, and I would love to hear any comments any of you may have about Proust himself and his masterpiece.
That's enough for the moment; but I hope that in our brief correspondence, we will learn to dream a little more.
