Howdy, Ya'll.
I started collecting postcards when I was 12 years old,(about 50 years ago!) from having lived in several states (Minnesota, Arizona, California, and Colorado), traveling (mostly in the Southwest U.S). and from guests who stayed at the hotel in Arizona where my father was manager.
In school, I became friends with foreign exchange students and later, as a young adult,I spent over a year in Europe where I collected more postcards.
After I married, and moved to Texas, our family hosted a student from South America, and we've kept in touch with each other over 20 years.
When we lived in Houston, I belonged to a Postcard Club. We're now 3 hours south of Houston and I continue to enjoy my postcard albums which also include fantastic cards received through Postcrossing.
I am the young-at-heart mom to my wonderful adult Autistic son; I work parttime and volunteer when I can. We travel occasionally...mostly in Texas, now. But we're hoping for another long-distance adventure soon. We also enjoy bowling and going to basketball or baseball games as well as to our local zoo.
