About Barbara...

I am an English lady living in Finland. I have lived here more than half my life, 32 years in all. I grew up in England and after qualifying as a teacher I came to Finland for a year but I'm still here!
I now work in a large primary school in the centre of Turku, which is the old capital city of Finland, situated on the south-west coast. I teach English and history to children aged 9-13.
I am very keen on classical music. I go to a concert most weeks. I also enjoy reading, cinema, art and all things cultural, but not sport. Travelling is also a favourite pastime and the picture of me on a camel was taken in Jordan in 2008.
I am a member of the Turku International Rotary Club and run a group for English-speaking women called "The Ladybirds".
I hope to hear from interesting people from all over the world!
