If you want to send the postcard in an envelope that is fine by me as the postcards do have a hard time travelling through the postal machines and some arrive damaged.

You will find that U.S. post offices may stick a long white label with a bar code on the front of the card or on the side with the address. It will peel off easily without damaging the card.
