About Jen...

First about the username -- Jen on the Fence -- that's a nickname I earned because I am very diplomatic. I see both sides of the argument most times. I usually can understand where both (or all) parties are coming from. My friend calls me "wishy-washy," but I like to think I'm just diplomatic. He tells me to "Choose a side! Come down off the fence!" So ... that's where that started.

I love to travel and have lived all over the US and in a couple of Asian countries.
I was born in western New York, moved to Ocala, Florida with my family when I was just 15, then moved to Gainesville, Florida to attend university at age 18. After that, I accepted a job in North Alabama (where I lived in Madison, Huntsville and Decatur). I then moved to south Louisiana (where I lived in a few cities), then to Lakeland, Florida. My husband's job took us overseas to Japan and then to Singapore. I am now back home in beautiful Buffalo, New York.

In addition to collecting postcards and traveling, I enjoy photography, writing, reading and community events. I have a beautiful dog (Ruby), who gets as much attention as my human children get. (I have two of those, by the way (human children)). I love Starbucks coffee and really enjoy collecting the city mugs when I travel.

My favorite websites are Postcrossing (of course), Reddit, Redditgifts and Facebook. I'm kind of a social media junkie. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr ... yeah, I'm on all those!

I have a lot of fun trading postcards and learning about those of you who send them to me. But if you're not sure what to send, here's what I like:

**Art -- this can be painting, sketch, photography

**Posta Collect cards from Japan - I do not have any of these, but would love some! http://postacollect.com/gotochi/index.html

**Moomin & Gotochi cards

**Old, antique postcards - even if someone has already written on them before you and they are already postmarked and cancelled. I usually don't like my postcards in an envelope, but obviously in this case it's the only way to send it.

**Pop culture - TV shows, movies, music, fashion, etc.

**Recipes/Food

**Offbeat humor

**Great quotes

I know after a while you aren't really sure what to write on these postcards, so if you're not sure what to say to me, rather than leaving it blank, just pick one of the following questions and answer it for me.

1. What is the best movie you've seen?
2. What is the best book you've read?
3. Is there something you'd like to confess to someone, but not sure who to tell your juicy secret to? Tell me!

Or, you could always draw me a picture.

Thanks in advance for the postcard, whatever you send!
