About Ashley...

I have had a postcard collection for many years, consisting primarily of cards my grandparents sent my family whenever they traveled and ones my mother acquired while working as a travel agent for a few years. I'm looking forward to adding to my collection and expanding my horizons to include your corner of the globe.

I love all postcards and like to see different countries' stamps and postmarks. If you don't know what to write, please tell me me about the postcard design, the stamps used, or something from the history of your city/region. Please write something more than just "Happy Postcrossing" and your name. I'd love to hear something about you and what your life is like. What makes you happy? What do you worry about? What is your favorite memory?

I enjoy sending cards as much as I do receiving them. I look at the recipient’s profile and try to pick the perfect card--sometimes it’s tough! (Sorry if I don’t pick the perfect card for you!) Whenever I travel, I pick up postcards, so you may receive a postcard from anywhere I have traveled as I try to select a card that will brighten your mailbox.

I received a postcard with a brief weather report from the sender's location (for example: 21°C, rain) along with the date. This was so fun and interesting, accentuating the meteorological similarities and differences. So if you could please include the date and a brief weather report, I would appreciate it.

I hesitate to make specific requests because I am so grateful for all of the postcards that I receive. Whatever you send, I will enjoy! I enjoy ALL postcards and stamps.
The International Year of Chemistry was celebrated in 2011, and I know many countries (including Belgium, France, Israel, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland...) issued stamps to celebrate. If you can, I would really love it if you use one of these stamps. (http://www.chemistry2011.org/participate/activities/show?id=533)
I am interested in collecting postcards of cemeteries, gravestones, monuments, any cultural practices honoring the dead (i.e. Dia de los Muertos), or related themes. I am fascinated by astronomy and all things celestial--moon, stars, eclipses, galaxies, etc. Also, if you can, I would like to receive postcards from the UNESCO World Heritage sites (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list). Please don't send any postcards with inappropriate (rude, nude, blood & gore) content. I don't mind if you send your card in an envelope, but I do prefer POSTcards, not greeting cards or notecards.
I will repeat myself: Whatever postcard you send, I will enjoy. Thank you in advance.

Cheers!

P.S. Sometimes our US Postal Service affixes a white, half-inch-wide sticker across the front or back of the postcard. This strip can be easily removed without damaging the card.

P.P.S. If you send me any holiday-themed postcard (any time of the year), please tell me about one of your family's traditions. I love hearing about how everyone's families celebrate in their own ways.
