She has been a member for over 2 years (1037 days).I´m German, but have been living in Mexico since 1999. I am married to a Mexican and we have one daughter. And then of course, there are Frida and Molly, our two lovely dogs, both were adopted straight off the streets of Puebla. Well, Frida I found on the parking-lot at VW, where I work, so maybe she doesn't count as a street-dog, more like a parking-lot-dog. :-) I love rock music, especially Bruce Springsteen. Sadly, he has never ever played here, and for some strange reason people do not know him either. I also like reading (John Steinbeck, Margaret Atwood, Christoph Hein come to mind as favourite authors; and on the lighter side bill bryson and max goldt) and watching films. My all-time favourites are Burt Lancaster, Jack Nicholson and Jeff Bridges. Ever seen "The big Lebowski" by the Coen-brothers? If you did, you get a glimpse of what my humour is like.
I'd like to receive cards from you home country/city/town and it'd be great to hear something about your town and yourself. For some reason, some cards mainly in blueish colours have ended up on our wall, that is also painted in blue. Must be some Frida Kahlo influence there... :-)
Right now I sort of get a kick out of being the number one Mexican poster, and that not being Mexican myself. Somehow writing just is not a part of Mexican culture, I suppose, at least not for the majority of people. So, here I am then, trying to make someone's day getting a card from far-away Mexico.
And just in case: The Mexican postal system is really - and I mean really really - slow, although things have improved ever since I got myself a P.O.Box. Be patient if I don't register your card fast. It takes a while for the cards to reach me. Once I've received one, it will be registered as soon as possible!!!
Private swaps: I do get asked a lot for private swaps and I just can't do them all... so try for a good reason or... you know... anything exotic and rare is always welcome. :-)
