About Andrew...
Hey, I'm Andy, I'm 18, and I live in a boring town called Widnes. Things you may not know about it:
- Widnes is a Danish name, meaning 'wide promontory', because it's built on land that sticks out into the River Mersey.
- The most famous thing about it is the bridge (on the way out :P)
- There are only two museums in the world that are dedicated just to chemistry, and Widnes has one of them.
- Our rugby team was one of the most successful in the world until the 1980s. Recent history, not so good.
- Mel C from the Spice Girls went to school in Widnes :D
On to postcards... there aren't many here in Widnes, so I will try to send you a postcard you'll like, but it will probably be from Liverpool or Manchester (or maybe a photo I took myself if you're okay with that :)) - they're bigger and more interesting cities anyway :P
What should you send me? It doesn't really matter, I like most things. I like modern art, metro/subway maps, and city views but I also love maps, great scenery (particularly snow and mountains!), and music. But I'll like whatever you send to me, especially if it's something that really represents you or the place where you live. Write to me in your own language if you want, I love languages and learning new ones. (I speak English and French, some Icelandic, but I always want to learn new languages!) Tell me what's cool where you live, great things about where you live (or if it's not so great, you can say that as well :P), what you like to do, and music you like to listen to - especially bands from your country, I want to hear new music! (My favourite band is Animal Collective if you want to know :)) Be as crazy as you want basically, I'm happy for anything to come through my letterbox as long as it shows you as an individual :) I think that's it... so happy postcrossing!
-Andy
P.S. I'm a bit of a Eurovision geek, so if you want to, talk about that on your postcard :)
