About A....

Me: In a Nutshell

A. 26. Aquarius. Random. Fangirl. Geek. Nerd. Harcore Slytherin. Introvert. INTP/INTJ on Meyer-Briggs. Chaotic Neutral. Eccentric. General all-around weirdo. Lover of the strange, unusual, and macabre. Coffee addict. Book obsessed. History Buff. Pagan. Hellenic Polytheist.

Hello, fellow Postcrossers!

I live in a small-ish town in Indiana with my boyfriend, and we also cohabitate with 2 canines of the labrador variety. I frequently daydream about traveling, be it across the country, or across the world.

I swear too much and have a tendency to cry over fictional characters. I do a good job of attempting to sustain myself entirely on coffee, and sometimes I drink too much. I fall down a lot and occasionally pretend to be a functioning, productive adult.

I love animals and nature, and I enjoy camping, hiking, and gardening. I also have a love of food, and I enjoy cooking and baking. I have a love of writing and a thirst to read. I'm not usually anywhere without a book close by. I read all genres, including non-fiction, but my favorites tend to be science fiction, fantasy, and horror. When I write it tends to be fiction, and most of the time it leans heavily towards horror or rather dark fantasy and/or science fiction. Though as of late I tend to be leaning toward quite a bit more nonfiction-flavored writings, particularly those of a more introspective point-of-view.

I tend to geek out over mythology, history, and religion in particular. I am a bit of a history buff, particularly Civil War & Reconstruction-era American history, World War II, Canaanite religion & culture, Ancient Greek/Roman Religion & Culture, and Egyptian religion & culture.

I don't watch tv or movies quite as often anymore, but I do love pretty much anything spooky or nerdy. Some of my favorites are Supernatural, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Dr. Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Battlestar Galactic, Caprica, The Haunting of Hill House, The Conjuring movies, and American Mary. I'm obsessed with Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland. I love comic books and classic science fiction; Marvel beats DC, and though I love them both dearly, I'll still take Star Trek over Star Wars.

I have a rather odd assortment of collections I've acquired over the years. Postcards is a rather obvious one, but others include books, dreamcatchers, coins & paper currencies, stamps, incense, and Funko Pop figures.

As far as postcards are concerned, I really do love every single card I receive, though I do have some preferences. I would prefer to NOT receive any ad or religiously-themed cards (the exception being Pagan-related cards). Handmade or self-printed cards are more than okay though, so long as they are quality cards. And unless it's easier or cheaper for you sending the card or other special circumstances, than I'd much rather receive my cards without an envelope, and written & stamped.
