Hi, I'm Nicole!
I'm originally from Oregon, but moved to Alaska for a new adventure.
I'm a prolific musician who has played in various community groups ranging from a pit orchestra to a handbell choir to a Dixieland jazz group to a brass quintet.
I also volunteer at a radio station. Check it out at kmxt.org!
By day, I'm an accountant at the Kodiak Island Borough School District.
I love getting mail!
Other than that, I'm pretty much an open book. Ask me *almost* anything!

I will love and cherish any postcard you send me - I love how exchanging postcards can be so simple and yet so profound. With all the ugliness in the world, it's nice to spread joy and happiness whenever possible. :)

However, I do ask that you please write something more than just "Hi, happy Postcrossing." Tell me about yourself, your hobbies, about your city/town, anything! You can also ask me questions (either on your card or by private messaging me) and I will respond. If you'd like me to respond to your card, please provide me with a return address.

I do have a few special wishes that would make me very happy. :) If you're at a loss for what to send me, here are some ideas (NOT REQUIRED) :)
* Nautical themes (ships/boats, sailors, anchors, ship's wheels, pirates)
* Tattoos/body modification/henna
* Food/drink (alcoholic is ok)
* Churches/religious themes
* Vintage/black and white (can be real vintage or vintage style)
* Classic advertising mascots/slogans
* Anything to do with art/graphic design or photography
* MUSIC (anything from classical instruments to your favorite rock band or singer)
* Books/literature
* Flowers/plants
* Ink drawings
* Street art
* Subcultures (grunge/hipster/punk/rockabilly/etc)
* Unique places in your community (the more random the better!)
* "Off-season" cards (winter scenes in summer, summer scenes in winter, etc.) It's always nice when a card puts you in that "vacation" state of mind, especially on a busy work day!
* Any card with a good "story" behind it!

Other than that, I love tourist cards, free cards (but please write something on them or include a pretty stamp!), handmade cards, greeting cards in an envelope, anything really! I also LOVE private swapping, as well as little surprises such as stickers, patches, coins/paper currency, ticket stubs, really any small pieces of life that you'd like to share. None of these things are mandatory, of course :)

Peace, love and happy postcrossing!

Nicole

Writing prompt (if you like):
What would you do if you knew you could not fail? (assuming that time/money/energy/practicality are not obstacles)

Have fun! -N
