About Willemijn...

Hi there,

Thought I'd rewrite my profile a little bit! I joined Postcrossing in 2007, sent a few cards, but then I got distracted. Anyway, have picked it up again and looking forward to sending lots and lots of cards (and receiving as many (or a little less :) )!

About me:
Born in 1978, so that makes me 32 (going on 33 in a couple of months).
Am a girl who not only loves to play sports, but has that need to do so as well. I get a little cranky when I don't have the opportunity to do so!
I got married last year and in January of this year (2011) we became the proud parents of a baby boy. He's absolutely gorgeous and the most fantastic kid in the world (but what else can a parent say??).

I live in Putten, or actually, just outside of Putten. We live in the middle of woodlands and meadows, our closest neighbors are about 500 meters away from us and we have deer jumping around in our backgarden. Not our private deer, just a few truly wild ones.
I realise I am extremely lucky to live outdoors like I do! The city is no place for me (to live in, that is), except during holidays or just one day!

Anyway, a bit more about me:
I've lived abroad for 11 years, in Cascais (Portugal), Jakarta (Indonesia), Miami (Florida, USA) and Melbourne (Victoria, Australia). I have visited a lot of countries during my youth and that has left a mark: I am very interested in other cultures and extremely dislike going on holidays where there's a whole other bunch of Dutchies around, or other tourists, for that matter. I really like to get in touch with the locals.

So that's why I am asking you, when you write me a card: please tell me something which you think is very specific for your country (or the part where you live in or maybe even just a family thing).

As small as it might be, I'd like to read something about that! Thanks heaps in advance and: HAPPY POSTCROSSING!
