Hello, my dear fellow postcrossers!

I'm a 24-year-old student of history and philosophy. I live and study in the beautiful city of Turku in the south-western part of Finland (in the province called Varsinais-Suomi).

I love sending and recieving old-fashioned mail - and especially postcards because one can write them quickly but still make them very personal. The picture on the card can be (and when I'm on the job, it usually is) half of the message one is sending, and thus postcards have an extra dimension that letters lack...

Below is a list of my interests that might help you to choose a card and make up things to write on it. But it DOESN't mean that you have to pick a card that matches my interests exactly. Please feel free to send any card YOU like - I will like it just as much! I love recieving all kinds of postcards. :)

So, my interests are:

- Philosophy. I love it! It's the way I think and live! I love to ponder and wonder and analyze things into pieces... Ethics, metaphysics, epistemology... I like them all!

- Travelling. I constantly suffer from travelling fever! And I've lost my heart to "the eternal city" Rome... Love to see new places and beautiful landscapes, and learn about other cultures. - Do you have an own special festival in your country? Old, unique traditions? Interesting food?

- Arts & architecture. I enjoy looking at (beautiful) things and listening to music. I love reading novels, short stories and poems. I'm nuts about old and/or unique buildings and houses. I also collect art postcards and hang them on the walls of my home. - Would you like to introduce me to one of your national artists? Is there a particular artist or a piece of art that you like? Do you have a picture of your favourite building? Or would you like to make a piece of art of your own for me? ;D

- Whales and dolphines, big cats (lions and tigers etc.), nature and wild life... I'm very much interested in seeing pictures of your country's specialities!

- Cartoons and comic strips. My favourites are for example Calvin & Hobbes, Peanuts, Zits, Asterix, Lucky Luke, Lt. Blueberry, works of Cars Barks and Don Rosa... - I would love to learn about cartoons and cartoon characters that are popular in your country (but perhaps hardly known elsewhere).

- My other interests include i.e. history (especially ancient Egypt, Greek and Rome), music (especially classical), figure skating (just watching it!) and foreign languages / linguistics...

Whatever card you pick, I'm also interested in hearing the story behind the picture. Or if you have a favourite quotation, wise words someone has once said, an aphorism - feel free to share it with me! It would also be supercool to get a phrase or something in your own native language. :)
