I am the mother of three boys and have recently started collecting, trading and sending postcards. It started as a way to teach the boys a little more about the world they live in, however I'm now hooked and love seeing what is in my postbox.
We'd love any postcards, however would be really thrilled with black and white historical scenes, interesting animals, distinctive architecture, famous people and the kids would probably appreciate recipe cards if they could improve my cooking. If you live in a country with woodland animals - they are particularly popular as we don't have any in NZ (lots of birds and a very rare native bat). Oh - and if you have a card with a beaver, you would be my five year old's best friend for life! (He has a stuffed toy beaver he has cuddled since he was a baby and there are no beavers in New Zealand. Several cards have ended up at my 6 year old son's school for projects - and the boys love checking the postbox for cards!
I'm not really interested in advertisements - unless they are vintage or historically significant - otherwise it's more stuff you can't buy over here and a bit frustrating.
