About Sophie...

I'm Sophie and I live in The Netherlands in a small village just below Rotterdam. I'm married for a long time with Harm and we have two (adult) sons who left the family home a long time ago but we see them often enough.

We love travelling and we have made some great trips through various countries, below you find the list of places we've been to as well as the places we still like to go to.

I also love reading (that's me on the avatar when I was 4), photography, cycling, hiking and being creative (or at least trying to be).

For me postcrossing is bringing smiles to people all over the world;-))).

Now about postcards, one thing I learned during my first year of postcrossing is that giving preferences might lead to missing out on beautiful postcards I just didn't know about.

If you like to know more about what I like, take a look at my favourites, they are meant as a guide and not as a must have. If you love the card you send to me I will love it too;-))

That said I can't leave without telling I'm a big fan of postcards with Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn and of all postcards of Cavallini which is a brand: http://www.cavallini.com/postcards.html
For the Dutch I also love cards from the Rolf Unger serie, the ones with the Dutch vending machine.

I appreciate almost any card but I'm not a fan of cute cards with animals and children.

I love my cards written and stamped but if you like to use an envelope that's OK too. If there's any room left on the back besides the address, stamps and your message you are welcome to fill it up with stickers, drawings or doodles as much as you like (I would love that).

Places we have visited in no particular order: Australia, Luxembourg, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Sweden, Norway, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cook Islands, Ireland, Canada, USA just New York, Malta, Canarian Island Tenerife, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Cyprus, Andorra, just a tiny part of Finland and Denmark. Recently visited; Hamburg, Stockholm, Tallinn, St. Petersburg and Copenhagen.

I love getting cards from places I've been to.

Still on the want to go there list: USA, Italy, Spain esp. Barcelona, Paris, Prague, Moscow, other coast of Australia, Kenia, Rome, Baltic countries, Patagonia and lots of others ;-))
