About Sophia...
Hi, I´m Sophia :)
I´m a student (English/German/geography) living in NÜRNBERG (in the federal state BAVARIA ^^°) with my boyfriend. Originally, I come from a small village near ROTHENBURG o. d. Tauber, a very small but beautiful town (...overcrowded with tourists... but worth visiting non the less!)
In my freetime, I like to READ, hang out with FRIENDS (go out, have a cup of TEA, cook something nice :P & sometimes shopping), to go to cinema, meet new PEOPLE, relax, go to the swimming pool, ride my bike & to listen to music (I´m afraid I don´t have specific preferences. I either like a song or I don´t :D). I love my little garden and I own far to many PLANTS & BOOKS (or so claims my boyfriend). I´m also interested in LANGUAGES and other CULTUREs, as well as HISTORY and historical sites. KNITTING: I´m a bloody beginner ;) but I love it! I was absent from postcrossing for a couple of months due to spening time in IRELAND as an Erasmus student ;)
I love to TRAVEL (so far, I´ve been to many European countries, as well as to Japan, the USA, Guatemala and Mexico) & I´m a member of couchsurfing.org - the best way to travel, I guess. So far I only couchsurfed in Ireland (Galway, Limerick, Dingle Peninsula, Cork), Northern Ireland (Belfast) & Germany (Berlin, Potsdam). Are there fellow COUCHSURFERS around?
I´d love to visit the Czech Republic, Poland, Indonesia & Denmark in near future, as I have been to neither of these countries so far. One day I´d also love to go to Korea, New Zealand or Australia... and many other places :D
NÜRNBERG is an old town & popular with tourists - & it is worth a visit, as it has a lot of medieval heritage, but also deals with Germany´s more recent history. Museums, a nice city, great parcs, a river, some nice ponds, nightlife & my favourite international quarter with all the nice shops with stuff from abroad (I used to live there. It was great!)
Especially the Christmas Market (Christkindles Markt) is quite popular. Nürnberg is famous for gingerbread ("Elisenlebkuchen") and a special kind of BBQ sausage ("Nürnberger Rostbratwürstchen")
I´m looking forward to receive your POSTCARD :) As for a MOTIVE, I don´t have special wishes, everything is fine with me :D Tell me about anything - your town/job/hobby, things you like, places you want to visit, local customs, why you picked the postcard etc
I´m also looking for SNAIL MAIL penfriends :)
