About Dany...

Moin Moin

First of all I want to apologize for my bad English. I hope it will be better by writing and reading lots of postcards :)

I was born in Otterndorf in May 1986. From 1778 to 1782 Johann Heinrich Voß was the head teacher of the grammar school. During his time he translated parts of Homers Odyssey from Latin into German. My teachers were very proud about it ;) Since 1985 my hometown has a writer-in-residence every year. So, this small town is very much obliged for literature. Otterndorf is also known for family-friendly holidays. It is situated at the North Sea and Elbe. The Queen Mary 2 and other ships have to negotiate this river for visiting Hamburg ;)

I have a lovely partner (Quirin, one year older than me) and we live in Cuxhaven. He sometimes helps me with my postcards :) I'm working here as an office clerk for a weekly newspaper and he is a navigator. We have three cute guinea pigs (Douglas, Klara and Pluto).

My favourite postcards and stamps are:
♥ hearts, lovers, romantic scenes, kissing lips
♥ information: maps, facts about your city or country, flags, coats of arms, recipes/foods, famous points of interest
♥ maritime: lighthouses, waterfalls, beaches, rivulet, stones, mills (wind and water)
♥ animals: frogs (especially red eyed tree frogs), owls, your national wildlife
...and lots of other ones :)

The back side is a very important part of every postcard. Please tell me some facts about your city/country (area, population, elevation, capital city, history) or about the stamp/postcard or about your name (meaning and origin) or a quote or something about your life and dreams or ... or ... or... :)

Happy postcrossing!
Dany
