About Patty...

Hello from historic Cedarburg, Wisconsin! My hobbies are knitting, photography, reading, genealogy, feeding wild birds, and of course, collecting postcards. My backyard has been registered with the National Wildlife Federation as a wildlife habitat.

My dream is to go on the ultimate road trip, Route 66 from Chicago to California.
We have 31 ft. "Breaking Bad" Fleetwood Bounder motor home. It is a hoot to see people's reactions as we drive it through town. We have even given impromptu tours at the gas station and at our campsite.

My Irish Setter, Lacey, is the light of my life.

I really enjoy receiving postcards from around the world.
My favorite postcard subjects have been changing over time. (I have zillions of favorites...take a quick peak to get a sense of what I like.)
Here is a list of what I enjoy right now:

Fashion
Dogs (partial to Irish Setters and Dachshunds)
Horses, mules and Donkeys
Sheep
Black cats
Rock and Roll (Alice Cooper is my fave! and I adore Amy Winehouse)
Hippies, 60's and 70's
007, James Bond...Especially my celebrity crush, Daniel Craig!
Japanese Harajuku girls, Asian women in general
Guns, especially women with guns
Beautiful scenery, something interesting in your hometown
Black and white photography
Knitting, knitting, knitting!
Dance, ballet, ballroom, modern
Birds, especially Owls and Crows
Angels (but not cherubs)
Cemeteries, tombstones
Libraries, especially Carnegie Libraries in the USA
Churches, Mosques
Doorways and windows
Umbrellas and parasols
Retro
The Eiffel Tower
Cars, especially cute ones and muscle cars
Bikes, Helicopters, Airplanes, Boats (especially tall ships)
Tea
Chairs

I love collecting cards with a theme. I love to see how many ways one simple motif can become hundreds of works of art.

I prefer cards without envelopes, as I like cards with the scars of their journey. However, I recently sent a fragile antique postcard that did not fare well and arrived in pieces. Such a card would do better in an envelope, so use your discretion.

Things I don't like:
Apes and monkeys, especially Chimpanzees (but I like Orangutans. Go figure.)
Clowns (I really hate clowns).
Trains
Cherubs
Erotica
Multi-views
Folded note cards and greeting cards

My list is evolving. I also like surprises, so don't worry if you don't have a postcard that's on my list.

You can see I have a tendency toward the dark side, but once in awhile someone will send me a cheerful flower with a colorful background that brightens my day.

I love learning what makes one place different than another, and what we have in common.

What should you write about?
What is your dream?
What do you see when you look out your front door?
What do you do for a living?
Your favorite places to travel.
Have you ever visited the USA? Where did you go? What surprised you about the USA?

I am very excited to see the world from my mailbox!

*I had a few inactive months, it has been a rough year. I apologize to those who were affected.*
