Hello, I'm Ellen from Antwerp. A few things that make me happy are photography, illustration, film, long walks in the harbour, literature, philosophy, coffee, languages and linguistics, nature, music, the sound of the wind in the trees, snail mail...

I will always like:

* nice photographs of the architecture and nature in your proximity. ( I especcially like mountain- and riverviews)
* interiors of libraries, bookstores, religious buildings, castles or typical houses in your country.
* something that is typical for what you do during this time of year. For example, if you go and pick berries in the wild in summer, that would make a lovely card :-)
* art-nouveau
* paintings or other artwork by a local artist you like
* postcards from exhibitions you went to visit
* black-and-white, or film noir-style photographs

* for Japanese postcrossers: I love Japanese artwork, like Hiroshige and Hokusai :-)
* people in traditional dress (if your country has any of course)
* Celtic art

Or anything else that you think is beautiful.
...and I have to admit that I have a little weak spot for beautiful stamps :-)

Basically: I love receiving cards that grant me a glimpse in the life of someone somewhere across the globe, so It would also make my day just that little bit better if you wrote something on the card :-)
You can tell me what you did today, what your passions are, your favorite writers, what you see when you look out your window, something you experienced (it doesn't have to be adventurous) or just make up a story or tell me something funny :-)
