Hello! We are the Preschool class at New Hope Preschool! Several years ago, I met a wonderful lady named Lucy from the UK through postcrossing. She was kind enough to send my class postcards from the UK, and we learned about her country and culture. So, I decided to incorporate postcards into my daily lessons! We are learning about Friends Around the World. We just finished learning about Costa Rica, thanks to Laura and Tono and the postcards they sent! In February, we learn about Pennsylvania, thanks to Becky and her Groundhog postcards!
So, I am using this postcrossing account to enrich my curriculum, and teach the children about Friends Around the World! I chart all incoming postcards on a world map, and I share the postcards with the children. At the end of the school year, the children take turns choosing from the postcards that we have received throughout the year, and they get to take them home for their own postcard collection. Our goal is to collect 100 postcards by the end of the school year.
We enjoy learning about how people live in different countries, and the children love receiving postcards! They are always checking my map to see if any new postcards have arrived! We look forward to receiving your postcard!!
