My name is Monique and I salute you from my brave little country 'The Netherlands'. After years of self-study ;) I discovered I am the melancholy type of person. In everything I like, this fact shimmers through.
I love music. All different kinds of music. Depending on my mood; the jazzy, blues, soul or rock music. But I can always listen to Van Morrison. I love to listen to the radio, CD's or my mp3-player when I am on my bicycle. And I enjoy to go and listen to live music. But the most fun is singing pop music with the girls from our local choir.
Further I really enjoy travelling. And reading about music and travelling but also detectives and the somewhat melancholy books from for example John Irving and Isabel Allende.
When you do not know what to write about, I suggest you let me know your all-time favourite CD or song, your favourite writer or book or the place I really need to see
when I get the chance to visit your country.
I love to receive any colourful picture postcards. My favourites are the tourist once and the once with art nouveau paintings (from for example Alfonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt or Aubry Beardsley). And, although I can’t return the favour because in my country these stamps get very very rare nowadays, I like colourful stamps from for example birds, flower, fishes or butterflies.
