About Mildred...
My name is Mildred. I am a married woman and have three children. Besides mother, I am a nurse and work part time in a hospital at the ENT Child Care Center (ear, nose and throat). My hobbies are reading, gardening and like to have a walk in nature with our dog (see avatar). Also doing things with family and children. Besides the dog, we have two cats and a tame rabbit. It's one happy family ;)
Me, my husband and kids live in a city called Naarden. Naarden has always been a fortress town with its fortifications designed to protect the west of Holland from invaders, from seaward but predominantly from landward since the old Zuiderzee was shallow and constantly shifting sandbanks. Naarden is recognized als a 'cultural heritage' by Unesco. Please tell me something about the place where you live?
See for sky picture of Naarden:

For both the Czechs and the Slovaks Naarden has become a place of pilgrimage, in particular the Comenius Museum, where the remains of Comenius are resting. Comenius was a Czech teacher, scientist, educator, and writer. He is often considered the father of modern education. During the war in 1656 he took refuge in Amsterdam, where he died in 1670. He was buried in Naarden, where his grave can be visited in the mausoleum devoted to him. Please tell me something about your culture or history?
I love reading. In our living room many bookshelfs are filled with liturature. I have a broad interest in writers e.g. Maeve Binchy, Marion Bradley, Marianne Fredrikson and J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter). Currently I am reading Lost Luggage by Jordi Punti. << Four brothers, sons of the same father and four different mothers, yet none of them knows about the existence of the others. They live in Frankfurt, Paris, London and Barcelona and they unwittingly share the fact that their father – a truck driver - abandoned them when they were little and they never heard from him again. Then one day, one brother is contacted by the police: his father is officially a missing person. This fact leads him to discover that he has three half-brothers. The four young men set out on a quest that is at once painful, hilarious and extraordinary. They discover a man who during thirty years of driving was able to escape the darkness of Franco’s Spain and to explore a luminous Europe, a journey that, with the birth of his sons, both opened and broke his heart. >> Please let me know what your favourite book is?
I am happy to receive all kinds of postcards.
Kind regards, Mildred.
