About Louise...
Please, no folded cards. I have no place to store them.
I've just started to learn Spanish so if you know this language please could you write me a line or two with a translation. Thank you.
We moved to Sydney about 14 years ago from Rochdale which is in the northern part of England near Manchester. We enjoy living here in Sydney, especially the weather, although is can get too hot!
I am married with two almost grown sons, a dog and a cat and work as a teacher's aide in a local boys high school. We live in the South West part of Sydney which is a great city to live although too busy sometimes. I am looking forward to traveling about Australia a bit more as I haven't been to many places yet.
I like to read, mainly crime especially Ian Rankin, Peter Robinson, John Grisham, Michael Connelly and Jodi Picoult. I also belong to a monthly book club which has lead me to read more widely - it's a great way to meet people.
We are also football(soccer)fans and are Manchester United supporters. My eldest son also plays. Our dog is called Becks after David Beckham!
I have been looking at my favourites and I do seem to have some preferences. These are:
Churches, cathedrals, temples, mosques etc, especially showing the inside of the building.
Religious icons.
Interesting/historical buildings (again showing the inside if possible), historical sites, castles, streets, markets etc.
Famous people in history - anyone from royalty (past and present), pop stars, bands (David Bowie, Beatles, Queen) political figures.
Maxicards.
Nouvelle images multiples - especially teacups, teapots, kettles.
Nouvelle images rack cards.
Dutch Multiples, Russian multiples.
In fact, any multiples, from any country.
Tiffany stained glass cards.
Books, libraries, museums, schools, universities etc.
Illustrations from books.
Recipe cards.
Drinking tea, teacups, teapots, kettles - I am English and enjoy tea immensely!
Please look to see what I enjoy.
Of course, anything is welcome if you enjoy it too - tell me why you picked the card you sent. The only thing I ask is that the postcard is a real one and not just cut from a greeting card - that's just laziness!
The only thing about postcrossing I do not like is people who ignore messages. I am quite happy to resend postcards that have got lost but will not do so if the recipient does not acknowledge my polite messages so I can check the address - I always send 2 messages and it is very frustrating to get nothing in reply (and it is also quite rude).
Please make sure you put my name in the address as my youngest son also has a postcrossing account - megamonkey.
If you are interested in becoming pen/postcard pals let me know - I would love to find out more about the people on this site and the places they live.
Expired cards (also 3 that have been removed from the site)
