About Karin...

Hello, I started postcrossing in October 2011 and sent my first cards to Australia, Russia, Spain, Germany and the USA. Five interesting countries, five interesting people.

I live in Bocholt, Germany, close to the Rhine and the Dutch border. The landscape is flat, green, rainy, very beautiful and relaxing. My real hometown is Kleve on the left side of the Rhine which is still more beautiful.

I am a teacher at a school for young adults, mostly I teach French.

I am interested in culture, literature, art, languages, photography, history and travelling. So all kinds of postcards are welcome.

Here are some subjects which I like on postcards:
- books, writings, authors, libraries ...
- museums, castles, churches, temples, mosques, cemeteries,
- historical sites and persons ...
- nice houses, monuments and buildings like windmills, lighthouses, bridges ...
- landscapes, nature ...
- postcards of your place
- art, painters ...
- trains, tramways, ships, bikes ...
- satirical or political cards
- selfmade cards
- original advertising

Cards that I don't like so much:
- erotic cards (they are rarely artistic, mostly boring)
- animal / pet portraits (I prefer animals in their natural surroundings)
- cards for children (I haven't got children)

I collect stamps in a very unprofessional way, just for the beauty, and would enjoy nice stamps. I always put special issue stamps on my letters and cards, even on official mail.

Actually, I am interested in the people who write and the places where they live, so it would be nice to tell me something about you or your place.
I register the cards the same day I get them, so please contact me if your card is not yet registered after a reasonable lapse of time.

I am looking forward to your cards, all the best, Karin
