About Janet...

I'm 52 years, married, no children. I'm born in the Netherlands and moved to Norway with my husband in 1997. I'm originaly intensive care nurse; now I work in the company Placement which my husband and I own together.

I'm very glad in Norwegian nature. In winter I like skiing. In summer I like to go hiking in the mountains. We have a special internetsite about our hikingtours in Norway: www.vandringer.no

I like fitness training, both in- and outdoor, most jogging and spinning.

I like to read and I'm a member of a reading group together with 9 other women which we startet in January 2009. Every 6 weeks we come together and discuss the book we read.

I like to write letters to my family and friends abroad (throw real post). Nothing, not even e-mail, can substitute a normal letter which you can hold between your fingers and "comfort" you with with a cup of tea on the bench.

Furtheron I have a little garden in which I cultivate my own vegetables. Working in my flowergarden is also a hobby I like to do. I'm very fond of butterflies.

We have a little cabin in the mountains which we visit as much as we can. About 40 nights a year we spent there every year.

Since fall 2009 I'm singing in a choir. Take a look at www.orskogkoret.no (in Norwegian). It has been proved that singing in a choir is good for your health: It keeps you in shape and gives a longer life. Also culture, visiting museum and music is something I like!

Since september 2011 I've been choosen into the local council so now I'm a politician too. That's a lot of work so I hope I can keep all my activities "in controll" :-)

And at least: in May 2012 I became a member off the local Rotary Club. Are you a member too it would be nice to hear from you how your club is doing.
