Hi, I'm Hilde. I live in a small village in Belgium with my husband, 2 sons, 2 dogs and 2 miniature horses. I work in Brussels as an IT-professional.

I love animals, the outdoors, growing my own fruits & vegetables, cooking, reading, traveling, making jewelry & postcards & collecting German Fat Lava vintage vases (those ugly ceramic things from the fifties & sixties...) :) I keep a diary and I recently got a sewing machine so now I'm having a go at sewing.

I would like to receive cards from special places from all over the world, preferably with a little note from the person who sent it explaining what makes the place so special to him/her.

I also like cards with inspirational lines - even if they're written in a language which I don't understand, romantic cards, cards with retro pictures or pictures from comic books, movies or computer/video games, manga, old black and white photo's, pictures of traditional costumes, pictures of bulldogs, bears, reindeer, moose, owls, koala, kangaroo. I like dragons, faeries, dwarves and other imaginary creatures.

Lord of the Ring by Tolkien and The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan are my favorite book (series). Don't know if they exist but if you happen to have a card of those lying around... I'd be thrilled ! :)

Ad cards are welcome as well especially if there is any text on it and your alphabet is different than mine (russian, chinese, japanese, greek,..).

I don't really collect stamps but if you have an extra nice one to stick on the card, that would make me happy. Handmade cards are welcome as long as you really, really tried to make me a nice one !

If you wish to trade stickers, pins, bookmarks or magnets for beer coasters of belgian beers, another bookmark or cards, just let me know !

I've recently been to finnish Lapland. If you're from Finland I'd love a card from the Aurora Borealis, Reindeer, Husky's, Moomin, Angry Birds or just any 'snowy view' !

If you happen to be from Holland. My youngest son and I like Jip & Janneke, Pluk, Otje or any other Annie M.G. Schmidt character.

If you're from Russia, I like pictures of Matryoschka dolls !

If you're from Sweden I like Pippi and Karlson or any other Astrid Lindgren character. They remind me of my childhood.

If you're from the States or Canada I'd love a card from any of your national parks.

If you're from Schotland : tartan, bagpipes or anything clan-related please :)

If you have any tips on books to read, recipes to share or music you think I should check out, please share !

I'm trying to collect children's books in languages from all over the world. Preferably books with lots of illustrations in it. Preferably second hand. If you'd like to send me such a book I'd be delighted. Let me know what you would like in return and I'll do my best to meet your request !
