About Herbstzeitlose...

Today (May 2nd 2012) I've got a card from Finland (Siiri Rantasen) without ID. Please tell me your ID so that I can register your card!

I love travelling the world by way of postcards and letters. I'm not really a postcard collector though I still have all the postcards I've got since teenage times. I just love to receive and send snail mail. And I love looking at good pictures, that is good (quality) photographs – whether they depict landscapes, cities or people. I'm not really interested in animals – apart from donkeys, Mangalitza pigs or Pulis.

I love to hear about everyday life in other parts of the world. I love reading (Jane Austen and the Brontes among my favourites), I love strolling through bookshops and old cemeteries. I do a lot of church work, practise yoga every day, like all kinds of crafts, but I'm not very good at doing things myself. I'm fascinated by patchwork and mosaics, all the tiny bits that make up awe-inspiring works of art. My dream: being able to play the cello.

Almost any card is welcome, but I particularly like cards that tell something about your place, everyday life there, your culture. I like:
– graveyards, crosses and headstones, angel statues
– religious paraphernalia, prayer beads
– people praying
– hands
– village churches, chapels, wayside crosses
– rainbows
– barren landscape, moorland, rocks, stones
– wild weather, fog
– mosaics, patchwork patterns, fabrics
– doors, windows
– books, libraries, bookshops, people reading
– musical instruments, people playing them
– shoes, buttons, tins, cups ...

If you choose a viewcard, please take one from your own country.

If you don't have any of the above, just choose whatever card you like AND tell me what you like about it. I appreciate the lines you write just as much as the card you choose. So please don't just glue an address label onto the card.

I don't like cards with just "Happy postcrossing" on them. If you are not good at any foreign language, just write in your own language.

I'm very much looking forward to learning something about you and your culture.

No envelopes please.
