About Asta:

Asta is my grandmother. I love her very much, but I am not able to see her very often. I have set this account up for her as a gift, and she loves every postcard she receives! She has told me several times that this is the best gift I could have given her, and when she is sad she takes out her cherished postcards and becomes happy again just looking at them.

Asta lives in a nursing home in Massachusetts, USA (3,000 miles away from me). She is 92 years old and has difficulty getting around so she spends a great deal of time confined to her room...and she loves good old-fashioned post mail.

Asta was born in 1918 in Tallinn, Estonia. She has also lived in Poland, Germany, and now the USA. She has four children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Despite her age, she still has a very sharp mind, quick wit, and reads several newspapers every day. She enjoys discussing politics and has always dreamt of traveling to New Zealand or returning to visit her homeland, Estonia.

Any kind of postcard you take the time to send her will be a thrill to receive. If you are trying to think what to write, a simple inspirational quote or phrase might be nice...otherwise, just say hello. I have no doubt your postcard will light up her day and provide an exciting new connection to the world!

Asta does not have access to a computer so I will be sending postcards out for her, and she will be receiving them from you. I will register them, on her behalf, as soon as possible.
