About Glen...

I was born in the '50s, but my heart is in the '40s. I admit, I'm an "inkaholic." I love to write. Happily married since 1981, I have worked security jobs since 2002.

I am interested in:
1. People. I enjoy personal conversation with and learning about people's lives, especially through correspondence and cultural exchange.

* Please, no cards with liquor, drugs, beer, inappropriate or off-color (a word to the wise). If you can, put post card in an envelope. Some cards have been damaged by postal equipment. Check my Postcards Wall Favorites for examples.

A licensed Baptist layman. (fbchammond.com/salvation) Some of my favorite memories are having church services in nursing homes. I AM interested in your church bulletins or literature. Especially interested in hearing from Baptist missionaries to whom I could be an encouragement. I like old-fashioned preaching.

2. World War II research, and those who lived during the war. Worldwide postage stamps from World War II-era, license plates, coins and currency, and post-war commemoratives of the war. If an older, unused WWII post card, please send it in an envelope and not ruin its historical value.

3. Exchanging "friendship books," business cards, Gospel literature and Canadian, and British Commonwealth coins.

4. Scenes of my hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Chicago, Illinois (especially Chicago World's Fairs of 1893, 1933-34 (if original, please put in envelope). US cars 1930s-1950s, car junkyards, abandoned cars, Scripture cards, old city pictures, old electric city buses, trolleys, street cars, trams, and cats.

5. Disabled American Veteran mini-license plate tags popular from the 1940s-1970s. I remember my step-dad (a WWII vet) getting them when I was a child.

6. Hearing from English speaking British Commonwealth nations, especially the British Channel Islands.

7. Computers-since 1985, desktop publishing, and writing. My first newsletter (a Christian pen pal club) from 1987-1999. My current newsletters are related to WWII and a Bible study (which are free, via e-mail).

8. Coffee cups (not teacups). At one time I had over 300 of them. My wife wanted me to get rid of some, but I am slowly rebuilding the collection. Wisconsin and Indiana license plates. Refrigerator magnets.

9. Post cards and maxi cards. If you are no longer want your post card collection (new or used), I would be happy for you to send them to me. All the cards I send out have been given to me by other thoughtful pen pals.

10. Our daughter likes hummingbirds, lighthouses, ladybugs, polar bears, albino animals, tang fish, apples, cats. (They have been an encouragement to her!) My wife likes horses and dogs. We both like Victorian era houses, lifestyle, and art deco.

11. Pictures of pre-9/11 New York World Trade Center.

European pals: please make your ID card numbers like this so I can read them: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0.
